Mauri Rose

Mauri Rose (1906–1973) was a prominent American race car driver, best known for his success in the Indianapolis 500 and the AAA Championship series. Rose won the Indy 500 three times, in 1941, 1947, and 1948, and was a consistent contender in championship racing throughout the 1930s and 1940s. He drove for leading teams, including the renowned Lou Moore and Ferrari-based efforts, and was respected for his mechanical skill, often working closely with his cars to improve performance. Rose’s career was marked by strategic racing, endurance, and adaptability, thriving in both high-speed oval events and longer championship competitions. His achievements cemented him as one of the key figures in mid-20th century American open-wheel racing.
