Stirling Moss

Stirling Moss (17 September 1929 – 12 April 2020) was widely regarded as one of the greatest racing drivers never to win a Formula One World Championship and a towering figure of the 1950s racing scene. Renowned for his versatility and sportsmanship, he won 16 Formula One Grands Prix and excelled across disciplines, including sports cars, touring cars, and endurance racing, often competing—and winning—against factory teams in privately entered cars. Moss was especially dominant during the mid- to late-1950s, finishing runner-up in the World Championship four times.

Moss’s driving career was cut short after a serious crash at Goodwood in 1962, which left him in a coma and led to his retirement from top-level racing. He lived a long life afterward and died peacefully in 2020 following a prolonged illness, leaving behind a legacy defined by extraordinary talent, integrity, and respect throughout the motorsport world.
