In 1964, Marhoefer Meats issued a 10-card promotional set titled “Review of Famous Racing Cars,” included free in the packaging of their meat products (such as hot dogs). The cards feature rounded corners and measure approximately 132 mm × 100 mm (5 3/16″ × 3 15/16″).
The front of each card shows a picture of a historic racing car accompanied by two flags. The reverse displays seven flags with explanations of their meanings, along with detailed vehicle information. Drivers are not the primary focus of the set, though they are briefly mentioned within the descriptions of the race cars. The series highlights legendary Indianapolis 500 machines spanning several decades of American racing history.
