The 1965 Marhoefer “Review of Famous Racing Cars” is a scarce 10-card issue produced by Marhoefer Meats as part of its series of Indianapolis-related racing cards. Measuring approximately 132 mm × 100 mm, the cards have rounded corners and, unlike Marhoefer’s driver issues, place the emphasis firmly on the race cars rather than the drivers. The fronts feature the car and its identification, while the backs use tightly spaced, single-line type to provide technical specifications and an explanation of what made the featured car notable at the Indianapolis 500.

The subjects span important Indianapolis cars from different eras, making the set useful not only as a contemporary racing-card issue but also as a compact history of significant machinery at the Speedway. Like other Marhoefer racing issues, the cards were distributed as promotional premiums connected with Marhoefer Meats products, and the set is now one of the scarcer small-format American racing issues of the 1960s.
