1900s Programs

Auto racing programs from 1900 to 1909 represent some of the earliest printed records of organized automobile competition. Produced for hill climbs, speed trials, fairground races, and early road events, these programs were often modest in design, typically consisting of a single folded sheet or small booklet printed on inexpensive paper. They listed competitors, automobiles, course descriptions, and event schedules, reflecting a time when the automobile itself was still a novelty. Surviving examples are scarce today, as they were intended for temporary use and seldom preserved, making them valuable historical artifacts that document the formative years of motorsports and the transition from experimental machines to organized racing.
