The 1950 AAA National Championship Milwaukee 200 was held on August 27 at the Wisconsin State Fair Park Speedway (Milwaukee Mile) in West Allis, Wisconsin, on the one-mile dirt oval.
Walt Faulkner won the 200-lap, 200-mile race in the #98 J.C. Agajanian Grant Piston Ring Kurtis-Offenhauser, starting eighth and leading a race-high 108 laps. He finished ahead of Henry Banks and Andy Linden, with Duke Dinsmore and Paul Russo completing the top five.
Chuck Stevenson took the pole at 98.765 mph but crashed out after leading the first 32 laps. Tony Bettenhausen and Paul Russo also led before Faulkner took control for good. The race lasted 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 26 seconds at an average speed of 87.315 mph and drew over 25,000 spectators. It marked Faulkner’s first AAA Championship Car victory.
