Herb Thomas dominated the race in his #92 Hudson, leading all 200 laps to win with an average speed of 82.872 mph. Lee Petty finished second, followed by Buck Baker, Dick Rathmann, and Junior Johnson. Thomas earned $1,000 for the victory — his seventh win of the 1954 season and the 35th of his career.
